Chateau Margaux 1990 – Valued at $1250

The Margaux is from famous Bordeaux producers. This has stored perfectly and is fully mature at this point. I recommend you open and decant at least two hours before you plan to enjoy. Personally, I have found that double decanting the wines helps even wines of this quality. Margaux was founded in the 1400’s and is famous to us as a wine that Thomas Jefferson enjoyed and imported for his cellar. It was determined to be in the top tier of Bordeaux wines in the 1855 classification of Bordeaux (called first growths) and has remained in that elite group ever since. Wine is composed primarily of cabernet sauvignon with merlot, petit verdot and petit verdot in the mix. This is the kind of wine you take to show off your wealth, power and sophistication when visiting your in-laws, or just for any earthshaking anniversary in your life.
