The San Diego County Bar Foundation’s 19th annual “Evening in La Jolla,” the signature fundraising event for the San Diego legal community, raised $120,000, a 14 percent increase from last year.
Proceeds from the signature benefit, held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla, provide legal assistance to those in challenging circumstances, such as foster children and at-risk youth, domestic violence victims, sick and disabled individuals, refugees, and the elderly.
Bringing together legal and business professionals from throughout San Diego County, partygoers socialized, ate and drank while enjoying the beautiful sunset and bidding on silent and live auction items. Attendees also learned the moving stories of the 12 organizations the San Diego County Bar Foundation supported last year, including San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, Casa Cornelia and San Diego Family Justice Center Foundation, through pictures and personal anecdotes.
The event’s top sponsors included Cohelan Khoury & Singer; Best Best & Krieger; Procopio; General Dynamics NASSCO; The Morrison & Foerster Foundation; Antonyan Miranda; Blood Hurst & O’Reardon; Dentons; Jenner & Block; JLL; Mintz Levin; Morgan Lewis; Noonan Lance Boyer & Banach; OneAmerica Retirement Services; Sullivan Hill and Wright, L’Estrange & Ergastolo. Gloria Khoury also gave the Foundation a significant donation during the event.
