SAN DIEGO (November 14, 2023) – The San Diego County Bar Foundation brought together the San Diego legal community’s finest at its 26th annual “An Evening in La Jolla” benefit, raising more than $225,000 to help support non-profits that champion access to justice.

“We ask so much of our board members, it is always wonderful to be able to recognize their dedication and invested time to the County Bar Foundation and its mission,” said Deborah Dixon, current president of the County Bar Foundation.  “This year we recognized past-president, Pat Swan, and secretary and Evening in La Jolla Committee Chair, Anne Beaumont, for their years of service to the Foundation and countless hours helping ensure the Foundation continues to be equipped to support local non-profits. We are so grateful for their continued service.”

The Bar Foundation President’s Award was presented to Pat Swan for, not only his leadership as the past-president, but for serving multiple terms on the Board.  Pat served 6 years on the board and then returned about 10 years later and is serving another 6 years.  Under his leadership, the Foundation was able to donate in total over $448,000 in 2022 between general and indigent criminal defense grants.

Anne Beaumont was recognized with the Service Award. Anne has served as the chair of the committee that organizes the Evening in La Jolla event and has been the chair for several years.  Anne also serves as the secretary for the Foundation and has been a dedicated board member for two-terms.  Without Anne’s leadership, the Evening in La Jolla would not be as successful of an event and the Foundation relies on that event as its biggest fundraiser.

“An Evening in La Jolla” gathered more than 300 legal and business professionals from the San Diego community. Judges, lawyers and legal supporters socialized while enjoying an array of food, craft beers, wine, auction items and live music.

The event’s top sponsors included Cohelan Khoury & Singer; Thorson Law Group; The Dixon Firm; Foley & Lardner LLP; Perkins Coie; Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield LLP; Morrison Foerster; Sheppard Mullin; Jones Day; Ankura; Cubic; Hahn Loeser; Fragomen Worldwide; Cooley; Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin; ; Best Best & Krieger LLP; Wright L’Estrange Ergastolo; Vanst Law; CBIZ Forensic Consulting Group, LLC; and Torrey Pines Bank.
