San Diego County Bar Foundation Announces New Executive Committee

The San Diego County Bar Foundation (SDCBF), the charitable arm of the San Diego County Bar Association, has announced its new 2017 executive committee to oversee its board of directors: Micaela Banach, president; Neal Rockwood, vice president; Dave Kempton, chief financial officer; Laurie Largent, secretary; and Brent Douglas, immediate past president.

“Our board shares an enormous passion for advocating for those in our region impacted by poverty, abuse and discrimination,” said Banach. “We will continue the Foundation’s efforts to fund organizations that provide assistance and access to our court system for San Diegans in need.”

President Micaela Banach is a founding partner of Noonan Lance Boyer & Banach LLP. Now overseeing the nonprofit, she previously served as vice president for SDCBF, managing all development activities and the annual “Evening in La Jolla” fundraiser.

Vice President Neal Rockwood is a founding partner at Rockwood & Noziska, LLP. In addition to his responsibilities as vice president, he will serve on both the grants review and Distinguished Lawyer Memorial committees for SDCBF.

Chief Financial Officer Dave Kempton is regional director of OneAmerica Retirement Services. He will also continue his role as the Foundation’s financial chair.

Secretary Laurie Largent is a partner at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP. She will also serve on the grants review committee, as well as the Cy Pres committee.

Immediate Past President Brent Douglas is an attorney at Mintz Levin. He is in charge of board recruitment and will assist with development and communication activities for 2017, as well as participate in the grants review process and the Cy Pres committee.
