Barbara Davis

Barbara L. Davis was the only child of the late Mr. Charles Davis (retired Navy) and Minerva Davis with humble beginnings deeply rooted in Poughkeepsie, NY.  She had the privilege to live in Alaska before the family made San Diego their permanent residence.  After settling in San Diego, she graduated from San Francisco State University and pursued the field of education before committing to Law.  Barbara earned a law degree from the University of San Diego.  

Barbara was an accomplished Senior Attorney, as well as her own established profession in Private Law specializing in Family Law, Probate Guardianships, and Wills & Trusts.  She was a Senior Attorney for the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Team at Legal Aid.  Her other affiliation and accomplishments include, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority and past president of the Earl B. Gillam Bar Association.  She also dedicated her gifts and talents teaching elementary school for several years with the San Diego Unified School District. 

Her church affiliation was Bethel Baptist where she & her family served for over four decades.  She was involved in ministries to help the least, the less, and the lost through evangelism and the annual mobile homeless initiatives.  She was a dedicated student and teacher of God’s word.  She had a love for children, enjoyed traveling including with friends. She was a dedicated caregiver to her mom.  

Her career in law spanned over 40 years, including with Legal Aid for over 10 years. She sacrificed a lot to choose “community” service helping people who could not afford an attorney with free civil legal services, definitely concerned about the vulnerable.  Barbara truly enjoyed her profession achieving the highest level of professionalism through example, education,mentoring, and community activism.
