Thomas Dymott

Born in 1945, in Detroit, Tom completed his B.A. in 1967 at Alma College, was commissioned from the U.S. Naval Officer’s Candidate School in 1968, and earned his J.D. in 1974, from the University of San Diego. He immediately joined the firm that would later become Neil, Dymott, Perkins, Brown & Frank. Tom became a distinguished trial attorney and developed a reputation for uncompromising integrity and candor. He was admitted into the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1987, became the Secretary-Treasurer at his firm, and was honored by San Diego Defense Lawyers, as the first recipient of its “Defense Lawyer of the Year” award. An outstanding teacher and mentor for young lawyers, he devoted countless hours to training and helping young lawyers. He was a member of the boards of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Winston School in Del Mar. Tom was both respected and loved by everyone at the firm and all who new him. On August 22, 2002, Tom passed away after a lengthy battle with diabetes. He is survived by his wife Carrol and his father Marvin
