The 2021 Distinguished Lawyer Memorial Virtual Reception will honor the 2021 inductees who have demonstrated superior legal skills, high ethical standards and have additionally demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of the community and the maintenance and support of the major objectives of the San Diego County Bar Foundation (SDCBF). This includes, but is not limited to, improving public awareness of the legal system in San Diego County, the administration of justice, and the delivery of legal services. The Distinguished Lawyer Memorial (DLM) reception and ceremony brings together family, friends and colleagues of the honorees to celebrate their distinguished careers and community service and to honor their legacies. The reception includes an introduction and memorial video presentation, as their lives are remembered and celebrated and how the Foundation can carry on their great works. Recognition in the Distinguished Lawyer Memorial induction is permanent, and plaques honoring each inductee are located in the Hall of Justice.


The San Diego County Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the San Diego County legal community, and in partnership with the San Diego County Bar Association, strives to provide access to justice by investing in sustainable results and advocacy for people and communities in our region that that are impacted by poverty, abuse and discrimination. In 2020, SDCBF awarded $411,700 to 29 non-profit organizations that provide access to justice for people and communities that are most impacted by poverty, abuse and discrimination throughout San Diego County.
