Mr. Rockwood obtained his undergraduate degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University graduating magna cum laude with departmental honors. He obtained his legal education at Western State University graduating in the top ten percent of his class and was a member of Law Review. After graduating in 1982 he practiced at various law firms emphasizing in insurance bad faith and construction defect litigation prior to joining the firm of Thorsnes, Bartolotta, McGuire and Padilla in 1987. In July of 2001 he co-founded the firm of Rockwood & Noziska, LLC expanding his practice to business litigation as well. While a partner at Thorsnes, Bartolotta, McGuire and Padilla, he first became involved with the Bar Foundation in the 1990’s and was Past President for two years during that time and again recently in 2018. He’s authored numerous articles and taught various seminars on insurance coverage, bad faith and construction litigation, and received two Outstanding Trial Lawyer Awards from the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, one of which was for a bad faith action against Nationwide Insurance Company which was the tenth largest verdict in California and fifty-eighth largest in the country in 2009.
